I have bought and sold stuff online for years and this book still had useful information in it. It gives useful, specific sources for many different categories of eCommerce.

I have paid much more for courses and books from so called marketing experts that didn't have near as much information.

So often you will read or hear that you need to do this or that, but they never tell you the specific places that you can go to get it done.

The many different categories of selling advice would at first make you think that it just glosses over them but once you start to read you see that they are one of the strengths of this book... you just keep finding good advice to tweak and improve your online business.

From web site design and boosting traffic to credit card acceptance to keeping your customers happy or even legal advice for people just starting out, it's hard to name just one part that would be considered the best part of this book. Site security to even the basics of chosing a business name are covered.

It doesn't matter if you are only thinking about starting an online business or if you have various web sites and are an experienced eBay user, there will be something in here that will make you glad you bought it.

This book was a real surprise. I fully expected to use it as a resource for new Ebay/Web commerce users that we help teach but found it excelled not only in the basics but in pretty much the whole plan of where you would want to be online in the long run. I am particulary fond of books that discuss legal and accounting set up and this one covers a lot of good info like type of organization, record keeping, copyrights and trademarks, a tax overview etc. A great foundation for the new online business. There is a lot of information regarding web site design, internet security and boosting your sales. Usually many books would leave off in this area but not this one. It has information on taking your retail business online , selling from a storefront and covers some important ideas like affiliate marketing and finding a niche. Whether deciding to operate on Ebay or with your own website this book is jam packed with information. Even as an experienced online user I found myself making notes from many of the sections in the book including those with suggestions on what to do to expand sales, deal with changes and other customer issues. Just as a note this is one huge book. Over 800 pages including the index and for the price a bargain. For Ebayers I would recommend this book and a general Ebay book as a package to buy. If working directly on your own e-commerce site I would recommend this book with with a web 2.0 or social marketing book.

Trajectory Planning for Automatic Machines and Robots

his book deals with the problems related to planning motion laws and trajectories for the actuation system of automatic machines, in particular for those based on electric drives, and robots. The problem of planning suitable trajectories is relevant not only for the proper use of these machines, in order to avoid undesired effects such as vibrations or even damages on the mechanical structure, but also in some phases of their design and in the choice and sizing of the actuators. This is particularly true now that the concept of 'electronic cams' has replaced, in the design of automatic machines, the classical approach based on 'mechanical cams'. The choice of a particular trajectory has direct and relevant implications on several aspects of the design and use of an automatic machine, like the dimensioning of the actuators and of the reduction gears, the vibrations and efforts generated on the machine and on the load, the tracking errors during the motion execution. For these reasons, in order to understand and appreciate the peculiarities of the different techniques available for trajectory planning, besides the mathematical aspects of their implementation also a detailed analysis in the time and frequency domains, a comparison of their main properties under different points of view, and general considerations related to their practical use are reported.

Environment Learning for Indoor Mobile Robots:

A Stochastic State Estimation Approach to Simultaneous Localization and Map Building

This monograph covers theoretical aspects of simultaneous localization and map building for mobile robots, such as estimation stability, nonlinear models for the propagation of uncertainties, temporal landmark compatibility, as well as issues pertaining the coupling of control and SLAM. One of the most relevant topics covered in this monograph is the theoretical formalism of partial observability in SLAM. The authors show that the typical approach to SLAM using a Kalman filter results in marginal filter stability, making the final reconstruction estimates dependant on the initial vehicle estimates. However, by anchoring the map to a fixed landmark in the scene, they are able to attain full observability in SLAM, with reduced covariance estimates. This result earned the first author the EURON Georges Giralt Best PhD Award in its fourth edition, and has prompted the SLAM community to think in new ways to approach the mapping problem. For example, by creating local maps anchored on a landmark, or on the robot initial estimate itself, and then using geometric relations to fuse local maps globally. This monograph is appropriate as a text for an introductory estimation-theoretic approach to the SLAM problem, and as a reference book for people who work in mobile robotics research in general.

Principles of Jet Propulsion and Gas Turbines

This book is based on a lecture course entitled The Principles of Jet Propulsion given by the author in 1943 and 1944, under the sponsorship of the University of California ESMWT program, to graduate engineers working in the aircraft companies located in the Los Angeles area.

It was decided in preparing the original lecture notes to discuss basic principles only, and in order to conform with the wartime restrictions on security only unclassified material was included. Since the manuscript for this book was completed during the war years the same policy was observed in its preparation. This introduced certain difficulties, because it, was necessary to omit certain data and useful information. It is felt, however, that because the discussions in this book are confined to basic principles the observance of the interests of military security has not impaired the attainment of the main objectives: the presentation of requisite fundamental theory pertinent to an intelligent understanding of jet-propulsion engines and gas-turbine power plants. Although the book is written primarily for the student, and not for the specialist, it is hoped that it will also be useful to those actively engaged in the aforementioned fields.

In preparing the manuscript the author was guided by the experience obtained in teaching the ESMWT course discussed above. He found that the interest in the subject cross-sectioned various branches of engineering

. For that reason certain material which may not be necessary for instructing aeronautical engineering students has been included. The instructor must use his own judgment in the selection and order of the subject matter to be taught. The author has drawn freely from the unclassified literature, and credit is due to those authors, professional societies, publishers, and manufacturers who were kind enough to permit the use of their material. This textbook gives an introduction, with extensive historical notes, to the principal disciplines of aeronautics. The principles of applied aerodynamics, aircraft propulsion, flight performances, stability and control of conventional subsonic aircraft are augmented by overviews of helicopter technology and high speed flight. Overviews of the history of aviation and basic aeronautical terms are followed by descriptions of the major disciplines involved in aircraft flight mechanics. These are discussed in five chapters dealing with low speed aerodynamic properties (lift and drag) of wings, aircraft engines and propulsion, performances, and stability and control of aircraft. Aircraft Structures

During my experience of teaching aircraft structures I have felt the need for a textbookwritten specifically for students of aeronautical engineering. Although there have been a number of excellent books written on the subject they are now either out of date or too specialist in content to fulfil the requirements of an undergraduate textbook.

My aim, therefore, has been to fill this gap and provide a completely self-contained course in aircraft structures which contains not only the fundamentals of elasticity and aircraft structural analysis but also the associated topics of airworthiness and aeroelasticity.

The book in intended for students studying for degrees, Higher National Diplomas and Higher National Certificates in aeronautical engineering and will be found of value to those students in related courses who specialize in structures. The subject matter has been chosen to provide the student with a textbook which will take him from the beginning of the second year of his course, when specialization usually begins, up to and including his final examination. I have arranged the topics so that they may be studied to an appropriate level in, say, the second year and then resumed at a more advanced stage in the final year; for example, the instability of columns and beams may be studied as examples of structural instability at second year level while the instability of plates and stiffened panels could be studied in the final year. In addition, I have grouped some subjects under unifying headings to emphasize their interrelationship; thus, bending, shear and torsion of open and closed tubes are treated in a single chapter to underline the fact that they are just different loading cases of basic structural components rather than isolated topics. I realize however that the modern trend is to present methods of analysis in general terms and then consider specific applications. Nevertheless, I feel that in cases such as those described above it is beneficial for the student’s understanding of the subject to see the close relationships and similarities amongst the different portions of theory.

Aircraft Engineering Principles

The global aircraft industry encompasses a vast network of companies working either as large international conglomerates or as individual national and regional organizations. The two biggest international aircraft manufacturers are the American owned Boeing Aircraft Company

and the European conglomerate, European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS), which incorporates airbus industries. These, together with the American giant Lockheed-Martin, BAE Systems and aerospace

propulsion companies, such as Rolls-Royce and Pratt and Whitney, employ many thousands of people and have annual turnovers totalling billions of pounds. For example, the recently won Lockheed-Martin contract for the American Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) is estimated to be worth 200 billion dollars, over the next 10 years! A substantial part of this contract will

involve BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce and other UK companies.

The airlines and armed forces of the world who buy-in aircraft and services from aerospace manufacturers are themselves, very often, large

organizations. For example British Airways our own national carrier, even after recent downsizing, employs around 50,000 personnel. UK airlines, in the year 2000, employed in total, just over 12,000 aircraft maintenance and overhaul personnel. Even after the events that took

place on 11th September 2001, the requirement for maintenance personnel is unlikely to fall. A recent survey by the Boeing Corporation expects to see the demand for aircraft and their associated components and systems rise by 2005, to the level of orders that existed prior to the tragic events of 11th September 2001.

Excellent book , expecially for us travelers with too little time to do a thorough search of information on this famous city. The text is organized so that you can easily pick and choose topics of interest such as the 10 best museums. Photos and illustrations add to the ease in understanding the text as do the directions and phone numbers included for many sites and locations. Our experience reading the book combined with a few internet searches made us feel like experienced tourists even before we left for our trip. Our only tip after visiting is to come prepared and bring along your book since you cannot expect much help and/or directions after you arrive as everyone else seems to be in a hurry or just uninterested in your dilema.

I've read numerous travel guides, most of which I've dragged with me throughout the duration of my trips (often times, two or three books and various website printouts and lists). These have included the Lonely Planet, Fodor's and Rough Guide books. All are decent, but tend to be long and tedious to thumb through quickly.

But when you factor in size, weight, cost, and coverage, I don't think you can beat the Top 10 series. They are ideal for a few days' stay, but might be a bit lacking if you're in a particular city for a week or more. It has been all we've needed for the basis of our Rome and Venice trip planning. The hotel recommendations are a bit outdated and bare-bones, but there's always TripAdvisor and Venere for more up-to-date and detailed info. The maps are also outstanding--they've made my StreetWise maps basically obsolete (for comparison, StreetWise maps cost almost as much as this book).

Detractors may quickly scoff at the whole idea of boiling everything down to "just a top 10", but keep in mind that there are numerous "top 10 lists" throughout the book, covering many categories. The idea here is to give tourists--especially first-timers--an overview of the major sights and to provide them a basis for which to explore further, based on specific interests. Used as such, I don't think you'll find a better travel guide.

I believe that we must admit that if our way of doing things worked, we would already be successful. This is unless you are already a success of course. If we would read a book such as this one and yes read the entire book with no judgement and follow the information provided, how can our lives not change. My personal belief is that if someone reads a book like this one and judges it and the other comments posted probably judges everything and has a life that is not working. This book provides a lot of good, useful and practical information if and only if it is followed as laid out not the way we choose to follow it and then sit back and say it doesn't work. This book is worthwhile to buy and read and then follow the authors information not your version, your life will change.

In the same vein as Kiyosaki's Rich Dad, Matt gives great hope and a road map.

On one hand he kicks you in the butt for doing it so young, and on the other hand his story is very encouraging.

He gets servant leadership too because his message is about giving more than getting.

Love the book.

There's nothing really wrong with "The Unemployed Millionaire" per se...it's just that's there's absolutely nothing new about it either.

As a long time student of personal development, I've read and listened to almost all of the "gurus" such as Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy et alia...and this is an exact rehash of all of their stuff. (in some cases almost word for word!!)

To add insult to injury it's misleading. When I clicked on an ad for Mr Morris' book he made a big hue and cry about Goal Setting not working..."Goal Setting is for Losers - Every goal setting technique you've ever read about actually sets you up for FAILURE! Most people set goal after goal, with grand ambitions, only to fall short time and again... leaving them frustrated and ready give up. (When you read this chapter, you'll never have that problem again"

That sounded fresh...but guess what...the chapter is all about goal setting...exactly the same way it's always been done (actually not as good as some versions I've seen)...write your goal down, give it a time of completion, write it in the present tense etc...same old same old.

Trust me, if you've read any of Zig's, Brian Tracys' or the slew of other personal development books out there, you've already read this one so do yourself a favour and save your money.

PS: At least when Tony Robbins plagiarized every single personal development book under the sun he re-wrote it in his own voice so it appeared as if the ideas were his.

It has specific strategies covering a wide range of professional opportunities rather than the usual one-trick pony self-help story. The author really comes alive w/fascinating stories along with ways he overcame negative events and learned from them. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in jump-starting themselves forward.

I enjoyed the 2nd addition which has a few updates to the original issue. You have to put credibility into any Option book written by a former "market maker." He brings to the book years of experience, and his 5 "trading scenarios" are very interesting. The book is a good read for the beginner or intermediate option trader. As Lowell says, no one book will give you the "holy grail" of option trading. It certainly gives me more types of trades and verifies the recent popularity of "Option Selling." It will give you many examples of the different trade alternatives and provides actual account statements. Maybe the title isn't appropriate because there are vastly more more losers than winners in the Option Game. But if you are practical, use money management, follow specific trade strategies and avoid greed...you can earn a comfortable living depending on your tolerance for risk.

Very well done. It's helped me with my real trades. I especially liked the credit spread chapter. It's helpful to see what percent away from the market he selected his strike prices. I also benefited from the chapter on the correct way to go long with calls.

Having a basic knowledge of options and option trade strategies I was excited to read Lee Lowell's Get Rich with Options: Four Winning Strategies Straight from the Exchange Floor (Agora Series). The primary appeal of the book was its promise to provide a four specific option strategies for making a profit in bull and bear markets (the second edition includes a fifth, 'bonus' strategy).

For a beginner option trader who may have never heard of a call or a put, this book will move you quickly from defining some basic option terms to trading specific strategies. The book is ideal for an investor with a basic understanding of options but who has never put together a game plan for trading specific strategies. Lee Lowell details five of his favorite strategies:

1) Purchasing Deep-In-The-Money Calls in lieu of purchasing the stock outright.

2) Out-of-the-Money Naked Put Selling (only on stocks you may want to own someday)

3) Credit Spreads, a strategy he refers to his as an 'All-Star Strategy'

4) Selling Covered Calls

5) Ratio Option Spreads

The primary theme of his strategies, besides purchasing DITM calls, is that investors should seek to get paid when they trade options. Most beginning investors think of options as a lottery ticket, however, as Lowell details there are several strategies an investor can implement to get paid to sell options. The title of the book and its promise to 'get rich' may be apt if you are on a long enough timeframe (years). I would stress that there is no magic ticket in investing, option or otherwise. Thus, once you have read this book you will still need to a) familiarize yourself with an options software platform to analyze potential trades, and b) identify potential securities on which you are bullish/bearish/neutral on. The option strategies in the book can help you profit from your security analysis but this book is not going to help you actually pick the securities on which to trade options.

If you are an experienced option trader or have ever traded a ratio spread, then this book is too basic for you. However, I think it has substantial value for the beginning to intermediate options trader.Get Rich with Options: Four Winning Strategies Straight from the Exchange Floor (Agora Series)

The information taken from the most successful business connectors provides actual tips and tools to use. The book provides a workbook section for you to analyze your own style and self-coach. I have read many books on the subject of leadership and marketing and found this book to be very informative. There are two things that I particularly liked.

The first was Chapter 6 which is devoted to the often lost art of listening. In this busy work, we often get so focused on the task at hand that we do not spend enough time listening to our clients and colleagues. This chapter reminds us of the unique power of listeing and the leverage that it can create in building relationships.

The second is the use of the self-assessments throughout the book. At the end of many of the chapters, the author invites the reader to make an honest assessment of themselves in certain areas such as social intelligence, the questions that they ask, etc. If you are reading a book like this, then you are looking for ideas on how you can improve your ability to connect. These assessments point you in the right direction.

I highly recommend this book as it contains many ideas how one can become better connected.

I received a review copy of Maribeth Kuzmeski's new book, "The Connectors." The book is essentially about good salesmanship. She draws from true-life examples and brings them to life for the reader using short quizzes at the end of each chapter. These quizzes are basically designed to help you to be a better connector -- a connector being a good sales person, a person who deals effectively with other people, especially in business.

The first thing I noticed about the book is that it's not terribly well written. Some of the sentences are clunky and full of unnecessary words. Much of the writing doesn't flow well.

What the author calls the "Red Zone Formula" (the basis for the book) is no more than good salesmanship and was taught decades ago by Elmer Wheeler and many others before and after him. The only difference is the author modernized these methods, has given examples from her own life and business, has made the book interactive (by way of brief quizzes, etc.) and repackaged them as the "Red Zone Formula", which I suspect, is to promote her business, "Red Zone Marketing."

There's certainly nothing new nor wrong with all this. It's just that the "Red Zone Formula" of salesmanship is simply basic, intelligent selling -- a formula used for generations to great success. And I applaud the method. It's just not new.

The only two possible exceptions to that might be the last two chapters. There is a chapter on networking and one on coaching your way to better relationships.

In the final chapter, "Financial Adviser Relationship Strategies", the author gives some rather helpful and somewhat unique information and techniques for getting referrals and for marketing in a bad economy.

The book has an index, which is a good thing and which many books today unfortunately do not have.

In summary, the book, while suffering from some blemished writing and using updated yet old material, also offers some value to the reader in the way of a few new, rather unique techniques.

This book covers four CCNP exams, and includes about 500 questions and a 30-page reference section for each.

A trip through a section of this book involves looking at the right-hand page for questions--there are two of them on each such page--then flipping the page to see the corresponding answers on the other side. Most answers are reasonably well explained (readers get an idea of why the correct answer is what it is), but they do not include citations of authoritative Cisco documents or even other Cisco Press reference books.
